Terapia Surf.ART

Mental health clinic Cascais Terapia Surf.ART offers surf therapy programmes at Cascais Surf Center in Carcavelos, using the beach and sea as a therapeutic setting. Its work is designed to promote wellbeing, mental health and pro-social behaviour through active participation in sessions.

The approach is based on Experiential Education and Adventure Therapy. A multidisciplinary team welcomes children and young people experiencing emotional, relationship or behavioural difficulties, as well as people with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Individual psychosocial support is also available, focused on developing skills and responding to needs identified and monitored during sessions. Surf.ART creates tailored programmes for schools, municipalities, families and organisations.

Schools can enrol a class for work across the academic year or for shorter programmes, while families can explore a non-conventional therapy option for children and young people. The clinic also plans team-building programmes for workplace and sports teams.

These are shaped around client needs, with the aim of improving interpersonal relationships, communication, wellbeing and team performance. Terapia Surf.ART is located on Avenida Marginal, in the Cascais Surf Center building in Carcavelos.
