Interior designer Cascais Aartium is an award-winning interior architecture and design studio creating bespoke spaces for hospitality, restaurants, retail and residential projects. Based in Cascais, the atelier also works from Johannesburg, South Africa.

Aartium’s approach centres on “slow luxury”: interiors and architecture shaped around quality, timelessness, comfort and sophistication in a relaxed setting. The studio develops crafted experiences with narratives informed by local context and distinctive locations.

For hospitality, restaurant, retail and bespoke residential clients, the team designs spaces intended to create unique guest experiences. Its work combines interior architecture with multidisciplinary design thinking, innovative research and techniques.

Sustainable design methodologies are part of Aartium’s process, alongside partnerships with local artisans and communities. Founder and Lead Interiors Idalina Grech-Cumbo is an award-winning hospitality specialist, while Founder and Design Director Michele Grech-Cumbo is an award-winning multidisciplinary designer and business development creative director.
