Carcavelos Surf School

Surf school Cascais visitors can find at Carcavelos Surf School, located on Praia de Carcavelos along Avenida Marginal. Founded in 2001 as the first official surf school at Carcavelos Beach, it welcomes people of all ages and levels, from first-time surfers to those working on advanced manoeuvres.

Group and private surf lessons are available with certified instructors, with boards and wetsuits included. The school also offers children’s lessons and holiday surf packs for ages 6–11, adult lesson packs, and lessons with transport from central Lisbon.

Teaching is designed to be relaxed, safe and closely supervised, with schedules adapted to tides and sea conditions. For independent time in the water, visitors can rent surfboards and wetsuits by the hour, half-day or full day.

Facilities include a place to change and store belongings, plus an outdoor shower after class. Gift vouchers are also available for a surf experience at Carcavelos Beach.

Carcavelos Surf School is certified by the Portuguese Surf Federation and Tourism of Portugal, and is open year-round, including weekends and holidays.
