Psychologist Cascais services at SEI – Centro de Desenvolvimento e Aprendizagem support children, adults and families facing learning, developmental, behavioural and emotional challenges. Based in Carcavelos, the centre works with difficulties including dyslexia, dysorthography, dyscalculia, attention difficulties and special educational needs.

The multidisciplinary areas of support include clinical psychology, educational psychology, psychopedagogy, family therapy, speech therapy and psychomotor therapy. The team also works on cognitive development, study techniques and methods, and emotional wellbeing.

Appointments are available at the Carcavelos practice, online and in schools across Lisbon and Cascais. Online consultations use collaborative platforms for assessments and varied intervention programmes, while school-based individual support can reduce the need for children to travel to the practice.

SEI opened in 2002 and also offers “Pergunte Agora”, a free and anonymous guidance service for parents. Messages are directed to the most suitable professional, who responds with practical tips and strategies.
