Medical clinic Cascais: GAT – Gabinete de Apoio Terapêutico provides structured outpatient treatment for substance dependence, alcoholism and other addictive behaviours. Located on Avenida 25 de Abril in Cascais, the consultation centre works with personalised therapeutic plans shaped around each person’s individual needs.

Its outpatient approach is designed to help clients receive specialised support while continuing their professional, family and social routines. GAT offers counselling and psychotherapy consultations for all age groups, delivered individually and in groups, alongside thematic therapy groups, relapse-prevention work and psychosocial skills training.

The clinic’s areas of support include drug dependence, alcoholism, anorexia, bulimia, compulsive eating, co-dependence, grief, depression and gambling addiction. It also addresses other chemical dependencies and obsessive-compulsive addictive behaviours.

Family involvement is an important part of the programme. GAT provides support for relatives and family programmes intended to help families better understand chemical dependence and find healthier ways to manage its impact.

The centre was established in 2008 and works with a multidisciplinary team to support personal, social and professional reintegration.
